Description

Crispy and delicious cottage cheese chips made by baking seasoned dollops of cottage cheese until golden brown. These low-carb, high-protein chips offer a healthy and tasty snack alternative with customizable seasoning options.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese (240g), full-fat is best, but any kind will work
  • Seasonings of choice (e.g., everything but the bagel seasoning, garlic powder, taco seasoning – low sodium or salt-free, cheddar cheese, or Parmesan cheese)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the cottage cheese: Drain any excess moisture from the cottage cheese to help the chips crisp up well during baking.
  3. Shape the chips: Scoop out one-tablespoon portions of the drained cottage cheese and place them onto the lined baking tray, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Press down lightly on each mound to flatten slightly.
  4. Season the chips: Sprinkle your chosen seasonings over each mound evenly to add flavor.
  5. Bake: Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the edges of the cottage cheese mounds are golden brown and crisp.
  6. Cool: Remove the cottage cheese chips from the oven and allow them to cool completely so they firm up and become crispy.

Notes

  • Storage: You can refrigerate leftover chips, but they will lose their crispiness and become soggy. To restore crispiness, reheat them in the oven before serving.
  • Flavor variations: Try different seasonings such as everything but the bagel seasoning, garlic powder, taco seasoning (preferably low sodium or salt-free), or sprinkle with cheddar or Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
