Description

This Watermelon Smoothie is a refreshing, creamy, and naturally sweet beverage perfect for hot days or a healthy snack. Made with fresh watermelon, frozen strawberries, and banana, it’s blended to silky perfection with a touch of lime zest and vegan yogurt for creaminess. Maple syrup adds a gentle sweetness, making this smoothie both delicious and nutritious.

Ingredients

Fruits

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh watermelon
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • Juice and zest of half a lime

Dairy & Sweeteners

  • 2 tbsp vegan yogurt
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Ensure the watermelon is fresh and cut into chunks, strawberries and bananas are properly frozen. Zest and juice half a lime.
  2. Add Ingredients to Blender: Add the ingredients to a high-speed blender starting with the watermelon first, followed by frozen strawberries, frozen bananas, lime zest and juice, vegan yogurt, and maple syrup.
  3. Blend Smoothie: Place the lid on the blender and blend on high speed. Use a tamper if available to push ingredients toward the blade to ensure an even, creamy blend.
  4. Serve: Pour the smoothie into a glass or into a hollowed-out mini watermelon rind for a fun and eco-friendly presentation.

Notes

  • You can adjust the creaminess by adding a small amount of water if the smoothie is too thick; start with 1/4 cup and add more if needed.
  • To serve in a watermelon, choose a mini watermelon, cut it in half, scoop out the flesh, and level the rind’s bottom to sit flat.
  • If you dislike banana, substitute with peeled chopped frozen zucchini to maintain creaminess and texture.
