Description

This classic Mexican guacamole is creamy, fresh, and packed with vibrant flavors from ripe avocados, cilantro, onion, jalapeño, and a hint of lime juice, perfect as a dip or topping.

Ingredients

2 ripe avocados

1 Roma tomato, diced (optional)

1 jalapeño pepper, diced

¼ cup chopped cilantro

¼ small onion, finely diced

½ lime, juiced, plus more as needed

½ teaspoon kosher salt, plus more as needed

Instructions

  1. Cut avocados in half, remove pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
  2. Mash the avocados with a fork, potato masher, or molcajete to desired consistency (smooth or chunky).
  3. Stir in chopped cilantro, diced tomato (if using), finely diced onion, jalapeño, lime juice, and salt.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more lime juice or salt as needed.

Notes

Omit tomato for a smoother guacamole.

Use diced red onion or green onions for different onion flavor.

Add a pinch of cumin or smoked paprika for smoky notes.

Mix in chopped mango or pineapple for a fruity twist.

Adjust jalapeño quantity to control spiciness.

Store in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed on surface to prevent browning.

Consume within 1-2 days for best freshness.
