Description

These Easter Egg Oreo Truffles are a delightful, no-bake treat combining creamy cream cheese and crushed Oreo cookies, shaped into festive egg shapes, and coated with colorful candy melts and sprinkles. Perfect for Easter celebrations, they are easy to make and sure to impress with their playful look and rich chocolate flavor.

Ingredients

Truffle Base

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (19.1 ounce) package Oreo cookies

Coating and Decoration

  • White almond bark
  • Colored candy melts
  • Easter sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush Cookies: In a food processor, finely crush the Oreo cookies until they turn into fine crumbs.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Transfer the cookie crumbs into a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese, and blend together using a hand mixer until well combined.
  3. Shape the Truffles: Using a 1 ½ tablespoon scoop, form the mixture into balls and gently shape each ball into an egg shape by rolling and molding with your hands.
  4. Freeze the Eggs: Place the shaped eggs on a parchment paper-lined sheet pan and freeze them for 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. Melt the Chocolate Coating: While the eggs freeze, melt the white almond bark or colored candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second increments, stirring between each, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
  6. Dip the Eggs: Using two forks, carefully dip each egg into the melted chocolate coating, then gently shake off the excess chocolate.
  7. Decorate: Place the chocolate-coated egg onto parchment-lined paper and immediately sprinkle with Easter sprinkles before the coating sets.
  8. Repeat and Serve: Repeat the dipping and decorating process for all the eggs. Serve immediately or refrigerate any leftovers.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened for easy mixing.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
  • You can substitute the Oreo cookies with other chocolate sandwich cookies if desired.
  • Colored candy melts can be mixed or matched to create vibrant Easter egg designs.
  • Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
