Description

These Cinnamon Roll Truffles are a delightful twist on the classic cinnamon roll, combining soft cinnamon roll dough with a creamy, sweet filling and coated in rich white chocolate. Perfect bite-sized treats that bring all the flavors of a cinnamon roll in an easy-to-eat form, ideal for parties, gifts, or a sweet indulgence anytime.

Ingredients

For the Truffle Filling

  • 1 cup cinnamon roll dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Coating

  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips or candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for thinning)
  • Additional ground cinnamon or crushed nuts (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cinnamon Roll Dough: If using store-bought cinnamon roll dough, bake according to package instructions. Allow them to cool completely, then crumble into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Make the Truffle Filling: Add softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon to the crumbled cinnamon rolls. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well combined. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  3. Form the Truffles: Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, form the chilled mixture into small balls approximately 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate again for 15-30 minutes to set.
  4. Prepare the Coating: Melt the white chocolate chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl using 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Add coconut oil if needed to thin the chocolate for easier dipping.
  5. Coat the Truffles: Dip each truffle into the melted white chocolate using a fork or dipping tool, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Return the coated truffles to the parchment-lined baking sheet. While still wet, sprinkle with additional ground cinnamon or crushed nuts if desired.
  6. Set and Serve: Allow the truffles to set at room temperature or refrigerate until the chocolate coating is firm. Serve and enjoy these delicious Cinnamon Roll Truffles!

Notes

  • The coconut oil in the coating is optional but helps to thin the chocolate for a smoother finish.
  • For a different flavor, try using milk or dark chocolate instead of white chocolate for the coating.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • You can also freeze the truffles for up to one month; let them thaw in the fridge before serving.
  • Make sure the cinnamon rolls are completely cooled before crumbling to avoid a runny filling.
