Description

Chicken donuts are a savory twist on traditional donuts, made with ground chicken, herbs, and spices, then fried to crispy perfection. They are a fun, kid-friendly snack or appetizer with bold flavor and a playful presentation.

Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 egg, beaten

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, onion, garlic, egg, parsley, salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and oregano until well combined. Add more breadcrumbs if the mixture is too sticky.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls, flatten them slightly, and make a hole in the center to form donut shapes.
  3. Heat about 1/2 inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Test with a small piece of the mixture to ensure it sizzles.
  4. Fry the donuts in batches for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch, spicy mayo, or honey mustard.

Notes

For a healthier option, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.

Use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free version.

Try stuffing with cheese for added indulgence.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3–4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.

Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes for crispiness.
