Ingredients
Dip Ingredients
- 1 15-ounce can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- ¼ cup buffalo sauce
- ¼ cup tahini
- ¼ cup unsweetened non-dairy milk
- ¼ cup nutritional yeast
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 stalks green onion, sliced (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Chickpeas: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Thoroughly drain and rinse the canned chickpeas to remove excess sodium and improve texture.
- Blend Ingredients: In a blender or food processor, add the chickpeas, buffalo sauce, tahini, unsweetened non-dairy milk, nutritional yeast, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Pulse gently for a chunkier texture or blend until completely smooth for a creamier dip.
- Transfer to Baking Dish: Spoon the blended mixture into a small baking dish, such as a 6-inch oval dish. Optionally, drizzle additional buffalo sauce over the surface in a zigzag pattern for extra flavor and visual appeal.
- Bake the Dip: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges turn golden and the dip is heated through. Monitor closely to avoid over-browning.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and sprinkle with sliced green onions or chives. Allow the dip to cool slightly for a better dipping experience. Serve warm with tortilla chips, vegetable sticks, or your preferred dippers.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the dip with toppings like diced tomatoes, extra nutritional yeast, avocado slices, or additional hot sauce for more heat.
- Use gluten-free chips or fresh veggies to keep this appetizer gluten-free.
- Adjust the buffalo sauce quantity to control the spiciness level to your preference.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and gently reheated in the oven.
