Description

Brazilian Lemonade is a refreshingly bright, sweet-tart drink featuring limes blended whole (with skin on!) and sweetened with sugar and creamy condensed milk. Despite the name, this classic summer cooler uses limes instead of lemons, delivering a uniquely tangy, frothy, and vibrant beverage that’s perfect for quenching your thirst or serving at a summer gathering.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 6 cups cold water (filtered or purified recommended)
  • 5 limes, cut into wedges (use whole lime, skin and all)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Creamy Addition

  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (or more to taste)

To Serve

  • Ice, for serving
  • Fresh lime slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Blend the Limes and Water: Add the cold water, whole lime wedges, and granulated sugar to a blender. Blend on high speed until the lime wedges and skins are broken down and the mixture is as smooth as possible.
  2. Strain the Mixture: Set a fine mesh strainer over a bowl. Pour the blended liquid through the strainer, catching all the liquid in the bowl beneath. Discard the remaining lime pulp and pieces left in the strainer.
  3. Blend with Condensed Milk: Rinse out the blender. Return the strained lime juice mixture back into the clean blender, then add the sweetened condensed milk. Blend again until the mixture is completely combined and frothy.
  4. Serve: Fill glasses with ice. Pour the creamy Brazilian lemonade over the ice. Garnish with fresh lime slices if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Cold Water: For best flavor, use filtered or purified water rather than tap water for the base.
  • Limes: You do not need to peel or juice the limes — blend the whole wedges, as the skin adds extra flavor and brightness. Everything will be strained out later.
  • Customization: Taste and adjust the amount of sweetened condensed milk to make it creamier or sweeter if you wish.
  • Serving: This drink is best enjoyed immediately after blending, as the flavor and frothiness diminish over time.
  • Make Ahead: If needed, you can prep all ingredients except the ice and blend just before serving.
