Description

A hearty and flavorful breakfast casserole featuring seasoned ground beef cooked to perfection. This savory dish combines ground beef with garlic and aromatic spices, pan-cooked for a deliciously browned and juicy result, ideal for a comforting morning meal.

Ingredients

Meat Mixture

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Sausage casings (optional, if you want shape)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with minced garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, and the optional cumin and chili powder. Mix thoroughly until all the spices and the meat are evenly blended.
  2. Soften the Mixture: Add the olive oil and a tablespoon of water to the meat mixture. Stir well to soften the texture and help bind the ingredients for better shaping.
  3. Shape the Meat: If using sausage casings, shape the mixture into sausages; if not, form into patties or small logs as preferred.
  4. Cook the Meat: Heat a pan over medium heat and add the shaped meat. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, turning occasionally, until each side is well browned and the meat is cooked thoroughly inside.

Notes

  • Optional spices such as cumin and chili powder add a mild smoky and spicy flavor but can be omitted for a simpler taste.
  • Using sausage casings gives the meat a traditional sausage shape, but forming patties is quicker and more convenient.
  • Ensure the meat reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) to ensure it is safely cooked.
  • Serve the cooked sausage with biscuits and gravy or as a protein addition to any breakfast plate.
