Ingredients
Filling
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon sour cream
- ¼ cup blueberries, fresh or frozen (cut in halves if large)
Wontons
- 8-12 wonton wrappers (3×3 inches)
Topping
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
Other
- Olive oil spray (for air fryer basket and wonton spray)
- Water (for sealing wonton edges)
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Stir everything together until the mixture is smooth and well blended. Gently fold in the blueberries, being careful not to crush them.
- Assemble the wontons: Lay the wonton wrappers flat on a clean surface. Spoon a small amount of the cream cheese and blueberry mixture into the center of each wonton wrapper. Using a finger, brush the edges of the wrapper with water to help seal.
- Seal the wontons: Bring the edges of the wonton wrapper together, pinching firmly to form a small pillow-shaped square. Make sure the edges are sealed well to prevent filling from leaking during cooking.
- Prepare the air fryer: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking. Arrange the filled wontons in the basket in a single layer, making sure they do not overlap or stack for even cooking. Lightly spray the tops of the wontons with olive oil spray to promote crispiness and golden color.
- Air fry the wontons: Set the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and cook the wontons for 6 to 8 minutes. Check at 6 minutes to ensure they reach a golden brown and crispy texture without burning.
- Finish and serve: Carefully remove the wontons from the air fryer and transfer to a serving plate. Dust them lightly with powdered sugar while still warm. Serve immediately to enjoy the crisp exterior and creamy blueberry cheesecake filling.
Notes
- Use fresh or frozen blueberries; if using frozen, allow them to thaw and drain any excess liquid before adding to the filling.
- Do not overfill the wontons to prevent tearing and leaking during cooking.
- If desired, substitute olive oil spray with another cooking spray suitable for air frying.
- To achieve extra crispiness, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket and cook in batches if necessary.
- Store any leftover wontons in an airtight container and reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes before serving.
- For a sweeter touch, drizzle honey or serve with a fruit sauce alongside.
